Biotop proudly welcomes Hong Kong-based artists Ocean Lam and Fresh Funky S to the label family. The two have been an integral part of the vibrant Hong Kong nightlife for quite some time: Ocean Lam with her Hypnotic event series, and Fresh Funky S with his Typhoon8 imprint - one of the rare Asian techno labels on the market. Having forged a long-term friendship with Biotop label boss Patrick Zigon, it was only a matter of time before their first release on the Berlin-based imprint.

The EP contains one collaboration and two solo tracks, showcasing Ocean and Fresh’s love for rough chords, twisted acid lines, and raw analog beats, all of which are accompanied by a Patrick Zigon rework. ’The Same Boat’ is a strong sign of life from electronic music in Asia, but above all, this multilayered EP is dedicated to love, friendship, and global understanding. Especially in times like these, we must not forget that we are all in the same boat, and everything will be better after sailing through the storm - together!
